Genetic Testing

Detail your Genetic Fitness

The human body is composed of trillions of cells – cells being the building blocks of all living things. They provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from food, convert those nutrients into energy, and carry out specialized functions, e.g., heart cells, muscle cells, and brain cells.

Every cell has a nucleus which houses deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA. DNA is the hereditary information that is passed down from generation to generation. It is the code that gives one particular person blue eyes like their mother, or makes them tall like their father.

Our DNA is made up of four chemical letters: Cytosine (C), Adenine (A), Guanine (G), and Thymine (T). The specific sequence of chemical letters forms genes. Every person has two copies of each gene: one inherited from each parent.

What is amazing is how similar our DNA sequences are when compared to one another. When lined up, the DNA sequences from everyone in the world are more than 99% identical! That means that only 1% of our DNA sequence is unique. Simple nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs, pronounced snips) represent the 1% where we differ from each other. These differences influence why some people have a greater risk for cancer, or respond poorly to a particular medication. Scientists are studying how these SNPs in the human genome correlate with disease and drug response.

The Human Genome Project was launched in 1990 to identify and map the approximately 20,000 to 25,000 genes in the human genome. By 2003, it had provided crucial insight into the biological workings behind countless medical conditions. It is now understood that diseases like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes have strong multigene components, meaning that many sites in our DNA – in addition to lifestyle and environmental factors – influence our risk for these diseases.

What does Gene SNP test for related to nutrient impact?

The nutraMetrix®️ Gene SNP DNA Analysis tests for fourteen (14) genes and their variations associated with nutrient utilization. While no amount of food or exercise will physically alter our genes, with proper nutritional supplementation and lifestyle changes, you can maintain the functioning of your gene variations to maintain optimal health.

What does Gene SNP test for related to blood sugar?

The nutraMetrix®️ Gene SNP DNA Analysis tests five (5) genes and their variations associated with blood sugar. While no amount of food or exercise will physically alter our genes, with proper nutritional supplementation and lifestyle changes, you can maintain the functioning of your gene variations to maintain optimal health.

What does Gene SNP test for related to heart health?

The nutraMetrix®️ Gene SNP DNA Analysis tests for eleven (11) genes and their variations that are associated with heart health. While no amount of food or exercise will physically alter our genes, with proper nutritional supplementation and lifestyle changes, you can maintain the functioning of your gene variations to maintain optimal health.

What does Gene SNP test for related to weight management?

The nutraMetrix®️ Gene SNP DNA Analysis tests for eleven (11) genes and their variations associated with weight, hormones and Energy. While no amount of food or exercise will physically alter our genes, with proper nutritional supplementation and lifestyle changes, you can optimize the functioning of your gene variations to maintain optimal health.

What does Gene SNP test for related to mental and emotional health?

The nutraMetrix®️ Gene SNP DNA Analysis tests for eight genes and their variations associated with behavior health. While no amount of food or exercise will physically alter our genes, with proper nutritional supplementation and lifestyle changes, you can maintain the functioning of your gene variations to maintain optimal health.

Detail your services

Our genes are composed of combinations of protein bases. While there are only four possible bases, they can be combined in billions of ways to code for countless functions in the body. These four bases make up the DNA alphabet and combine to form words and phrases that give instructions to your body for everything from how your cells function to the color of your hair. Sometimes, when cells in the body replicate to make new cells, mistakes are made and a gene that was supposed to code for the word now reads By changing just one letter or just one base, the gene now has a totally new meaning and function. These variations are called single nucleotide polymorphisms (or SNPs).

These small variations in DNA are expressed in many ways. They can influence how we metabolize food and what types of exercise are best suited for our bodies. By identifying our own unique gene variations, we can customize lifestyle approaches and nutritional supplementation to maximize our genetic potential promoting optimal health never before achieved.

Competition

Many other companies obtain the sample through saliva rather than a buccal swab like Gene SNP DNA Analysis.  Buccal Swabs are considered the preferred way to ensure adequate samples and the Gene SNP patented swab holder ensures the protection of the sample.

Often competitors evaluate fewer SNPs (often 12-20) and only one or two different health areas or offers insight into non-health related variations like curly hair and eye color. You would have to purchase several different kits in order to get the comprehensive analysis provided by Gene SNP. In addition, Gene SNP DNA Analysis supports your health practitioner with tools to interpret your results.  Some competitors leave it up to you to do the research!

Most other genetic analyses do not offer supplements and only Gene SNP offers Isotonix® products carefully selected by your healthcare provider who knows more about your unique needs and goals.
